BDR is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will be based in the San Antonio, TX area with their duties being initially performed virtually from their home office. However, once it is safe to resume working in an office environment the individual will ideally work part-time in SATX within a corporate office. Being local to the SATX area is not a requirement a very well qualified candidate may fulfill the duties of this role virtually, full-time. Some travel (10-25%) may be required in the future when business returns to a safe and normal state.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Organizes, directs, and manages large contract operation support functions, involving multiple, complex, and inter-related project tasks.
  • Manages teams of contract support personnel at multiple locations.
  • Maintains and manages the client interface at the senior levels of the client organization.
  • Meets with customer and contractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and deliverable items. Ensures conformance with program task schedules and costs.
  • Has direct oversight over all aspects of the program life cycle and rigorously manages program scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Provides leadership and oversight in the creation and updating of project plans (including traditional sub-components of a project plan such as communications management, risk management, etc.), project schedules; work breakdown structures; project communications; risk registries; meeting management and facilitation; action item tracking, capturing of minutes, etc.
  • Develops communication plans and interfaces with customers, partners, and stakeholders to execute on responsibilities.
  • Develops the program governance structure including integrated program plan, resource plan, communication plan, contingency plan, and other related program artifacts.
  • Provides resource management leadership to direct reports and all project team members that grows talent and strengthens key capabilities by advancing an inclusive and engaging environment.

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of extensive project or program management experience for federal contracts.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), preferably the Office of Information & Technology (OI&T) and Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA).
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust level clearance or higher.
  • Exemplary core project management skills including all aspects of the PMBOK.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical-thinking skills; sound business and technical acumen.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) including MS Teams.
  • Ability to work remotely from home with a high degree of accountability.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications (PMP, CSM, ITIL, SAFe, etc.)
  • Experience working for and successfully growing a Small Business.
  • Experience supporting the proposal development process (solutioning, writing, reviewing, pricing, etc.)
  • Experience managing software development, DevOps/DevSecOps, IT infrastructure and cloud development, Engineering and software architecture design, Business Analysis, Data Analysis/Quality/Governance, PMO, and/or other professional services-based contracts.
