We are looking for a Sr. Separately Managed Account Analyst (SMA Analyst) for a contract to hire opportunity in San Antonio, TX.


Our client is seeking someone wiht the following background:

  • Key applications used are Fiserv Security APL, MS Excel, MS Access, AWD, Bloomberg, and web-based sponsor trading and trade support applications
  • Review multiple web portals, work queues and inboxes to ensure outstanding work has been completed by the team
  • Work directly with SEI to review and resolve escalated items and issues (workflow, technology, etc)

responsibilities:


  • Responsible for providing service and support to the SMA fixed income and equity portfolio management and sales teams.
  • Responsible for a wide variety of evolving tasks related to but not limited to this support. Key applications used are Fiserv Security APL, MS Excel, MS Access, AWD, Bloomberg and web-based sponsor trading and trade support applications.
  • Oversee our 3rd party service provider (SEI) who builds most equity trades, processes our new and terminated account action items and reconciles our accounts with the custodians. We have a large number of controls in place to ensure SEI performs to our standards. The candidate will monitor daily and weekly controls to ensure a high level of service from SEI.
  • Review accounts in the portfolio management system and ensure that they are coded appropriately at all times.
  • Review accounts to ensure they are reconciled in a timely manner by SEI and update aged item reporting weekly.
  • Manage Trade Rotation and SMA Orders: Review block trade orders to implement model account changes, analyze trades for potential violations of account restrictions and communicate block trade orders to the AllianceBernstein trading desk for execution.
  • Update and communicate Portfolio Management model changes to sponsors
  • Review account termination requests processed by SEI are in full compliance with client instructions (full liquidation, partial liquidation, and keep as is)
  • Set up new securities and benchmarks as necessary on Security APL ensuring data matches Bloomberg's security attributes.
  • Process municipal fixed income trade files and trade allocations using various sponsor web sites.
  • Regularly monitor assigned accounts for potential restriction violations.
  • Analyze current holdings of perspective clients to managed account styles and make recommendations to sell or hold securities
  • Serve as mentor and trainer to staff and internal clients
  • Tests and provides qualitative and quantitative feedback to management for process changes and enhancements, including workflows, automation initiatives and risk control design
  • Review and complete error corrections
  • Conduct independent evaluations of critical processes to ensure that exposure areas are adequately controlled
  • Lead workflow management to ensure work is completed timely by the team
  • Review multiple web portals, work queues and inboxes to ensure outstanding work has been completed by team
  • Quality review of work processed by the team and our 3rd party service provider (SEI), which is sent to trading for execution
  • Independently develop and test team procedures
  • Lead onboarding initiatives of new relationships with SEI, State Street and internal stakeholders
  • Work directly with SEI to review and resolve escalated items and issues (workflow, technology, etc)
