To supervise all services provided by the Transportation department in order to maintain the highest level of courteous, professional, and efficient service to all guests. Plan, organize, and maintain daily checklist per shift to meet the demands of the hotel guests in an effective and efficient manner. Ensures that the department is up to and above hotel standards and presents a professional manner at all times. Assist the Front Office Department as needed.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS·To monitor and improve the performance and consistency of the Transportation department. This includes the coordination of the monitoring and discipline of all staff members to include designing and implementing a training manual and program to assist them. Establish goals with all the team members and monitor their progress on these goals. Assist, coach, and instruct regarding these goals as necessary.Ensure the all team members are being coached on safety of driving guest vehicles and ensuring the proper documentation is ascertained on the vehicle survey. Assist in the investigation of vehicle damage and follow up with corrective action plan for team members.Design and implement sustainable procedures to achieve Front Office Zip-In registration on the drive and recognize our Honors members.Ensure that the Front Drive properly reacts to all service issues defined by convention resumes and other sales and tour and travel contracts. Communicate with other departments to facilitate proper handling of all guests and groups and the hotel vehicle.Coordinates VIP pick up/drop off a airport for scheduled guest VIP’s and communicates with all departments.Attending pre-cons and additional meetings in the absence of the Guest Services Manager/Assistant.Complete supportive functions as and other tasks which will provide an introduction to the other duties of the Guest Services Manager/Assistant to include Manager on Duty duties.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESMonitor department checklists daily to ensure completion. These checklists will be turned in to the Guest Services manager end of each shift. Encourage improvement and empowerment.Ensure the staff is monitored to meet Hilton’s standards on performance. Ensure the team is provided with as much positive reinforcement as negative reinforcement and discipline. Ensure constant feedback, both positive and negative is being relayed to the team members and updated in their files. Continuously monitor the performance of the teams in soliciting guest comments and handing out Trip Advisor cards. Handle discipline and encouragement in this area. Ensure Hotels goals are achieved in this area and the information is relayed to other departments in a timely manner.Assess the impact of business changes on the Transportation department schedule and ensure immediate reaction.Ensure an environment of empowerment in the Front Drive in which each team member is comfortable taking action they believe by their own discretion is in the best interest of the guest and the hotel.SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS·Complete other tasks as assigned by the Transportation Manager to facilitate an introduction to otherduties performed by the Front Office Managers or Guest Services Manager.·Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. ·Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, staff members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.QUALIFICATIONS·One year practical experience as Supervisor or other related supervisory role.·Full understanding of HPMS and other major Hilton systems and their impact upon guest service.·Strong staff relations and team building skills.·Strong verbal and written communication skills.·Strong analytical and decision-making skills. EDUCATION·High School Diploma required. ·Experience: Prior supervisory experience preferred.GROOMING·All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well groomed appearance.OTHER DUTIESAdditional languages skills helpfulComplete any other duties as described by the Guest Services managerComply with all safety and security as described by the Hilton Palacio del Rio All Housekeeping, general cleaning is responsible by each Team MemberAll Drug/Alcohol and harassment policy must be followed.SAFETY REQUIREMENTSPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Team members will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITYThe individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain demonstrate that he she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.Ability to listen effectively and to speak English clearly.Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.Ability to stand, walk and continuously perform behind the front desk.Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and prepare complex reports of room availability and revenuesgenerated.Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in order to provide leadership, and delegate where necessary.Ability to push/pull cart/ table weighing up to 150 lbs.; grasp, lift to waist and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
