Part-time paralegal needed for semi-retired attorney. Experience of at least 5 years in litigation is needed for this position. In addition, experience in subrogation and/or license suspensions is a big plus and will add to the amount of compensation paid. Word processing at 50 wpm is the minimum.
After a period of training and some catch-up, it is expected that the position will require 15 to 20 hours per week. There is little phone work and the attorney will handle all client contact but contact with other persons involved in the case load will be necessary.
Since a great deal of the work can and will be done remotely, the position requires very good computer skills and word processing skills. In addition, good problem solving skills and the ability to communicate with civil defendants is part of the job. Moreover, the person for this position is required to have a home computer, a working knowledge of remote accessing and high speed internet service. Hours are flexible but consistency and reliability are necessary and required.
New graduates of paralegal schools should not apply. The position requires a paralegal with experience working in a law office with a litigation attorney.
