Respite Care of San Antonio, a non-profit organization caring for children with special needs, has a variety of programs that include: an emergency shelter, daycare, mother's day out, and weekend services.
We are currently seeking a Childcare Provider to work with children with special needs and their non-disabled siblings at our Parent's Night Out and Family Day Out program.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with children
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Pass all background checks
- Ability to attend 40 hour paid orientation (orientation is typically scheduled Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm)
- Direct care experience and/or childcare experience
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities
Responsibilities:
- Serve meals and eat with the children to act as a role model
- Engage children while reinforcing positive behaviors and promoting social interaction
- Follow recommended teaching techniques and behavior management programs
- Observe and document children's behavior
- Document, report, and review children's daily progress, needs, medical issues, and behaviors
- Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of indoor and outdoor areas (e.g. classrooms, playground area, and other campus areas
- Assist with toileting if needed
Shifts available:
Friday evenings, 630pm - 1030pm
Saturday, 9am - 4pm
*There will also be opportunities to pick up additional hours*
