Position Title: Data Scientists (Mid level)

Number of Openings: 2

Contract: CTH (conversions 2023)

Location: Office based in San Antonio, TX - fully remote

Project Scope / Components: Have a new service to the Enterprise that went live at the end of 2020 with their first models. Grown significantly within specific business streams - identifying target diagnoses within their models for patients

Hadoop w/Spark clusters on top of that - Jupyter notebooks -> deploy into the production pipelines

Clinical Team / Business / Physicians identify IDC codesthey take the codes and build a model that essentially makes recommendations of what they should test the patient for (what they haven't been tested for already)

• They are missing things because their issues/conditions aren't well defined within the model
• Bottom-up pattern approach & top down supervised approach
• Trying to get outcomes / recommendations on what doctors can test for (is the profile similar to patients being treated for)

Development Methodology: WAgile (converting / transforming into Agile) - coming from Waterfall

High-Level Individual Duties:

• Model Enhancement
• Re-evaluate models that are currently in production
• Updates / Retraining / Validation
• Also some building of new models
  • Structured now, but looking to involved unstructured data like images
  • Lab / Supplemental / Patient / Provider / Pharmacy
    • Vitals / BMI etc.
• Liaise a lot with the business

Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools):

• Python - Jupyter / Pyspark
• SQL
• Visualization experience (they use notebooks in Pyspark)
• Data Processing experience
• Working on modeling in production - need to understand CI/CD

Nice-to-Haves (Concepts & Tools):

• Masters is preferred
• Healthcare experience
• SQL Server
• Scala for data integration
• Hadoop - HDFS
• Cloud skills - considering Hybrid (Azure)
