MDMS is recruiting for a Tier II Security Analyst for a Managed Security Provider in the San Antonio area. You will work as part of a Security Operations Center (SOC) to monitor and manage threats, oversee customer network/security environments, and manage security tools and platforms such as: SIEMs, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Network Security Appliances, Vulnerability Scanners, and Anti-Virus Software.
Responsibilities:
- Performing security and anti-virus scans, remediate, and escalate as needed.
- Monitor, analyze, and characterize network traffic to identify anomalies and threats.
- Network mapping, escalation/threat documentation, network/OS fingerprinting, and IP Blocks.
- Detect and identify possible attacks/intrusions, anomalies, and misuse activities.
- Perform cyber defense trend analysis and reporting, use cyber defense tools for continual monitoring and analysis, and analyze network alerts.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional experience in a SOC/NOC environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of Networking & The OSI Model, Security Tools, SIEMs, Firewalls, and Security Management Systems.
- OS and Network investigation experience.
- Prior experience with incident response, risk management, threat analysis, and security administration.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, SANS GIAC GSEC, GCIH, are a plus.
