This Network Administrator is fully on site in Stafford, TX Salary is in the $65,000 range. Must have some experience with Network administration.
Summary Install, set-up and monitor local area network (LAN). Perform a variety of maintenance, evaluation, installation, and training tasks to ensure LAN performance meets company and user requirements.
Duties
Assist in the administration of network workstations, utilizing one or more TCP/IP or non-TCP/IP networking protocols; Maintain site licenses for department/organization.
Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test, and implement solutions.
Install, configure, and maintain personal computers, file servers, Ethernet networks, network cabling and other related equipment, devices, and systems; Investigate, recommend, and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network availability.
Perform and/or oversee software and application installation and upgrades.
Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties; assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree plus 1-2 years of related technical or 6+ years' experience
Certifications in Microsoft, Cisco and/or VMware a plus
Hands-on technical knowledge of network systems, protocols, and standards such as Ethernet, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, and so on.
Knowledge of anti-virus software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other network security measures; Knowledge of network management and analysis tools; proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices
Client/server and operating system experience with Microsoft desktops and servers OS; Hardware, software, and network connection troubleshooting experience.
Skilled at installing/configuring hubs, switches, routers, bridges, etc.
Experience with SyteLine is a huge plus
