From applied research to advanced engineering, the Chief Technology and Innovation Office's Hardware Architecture team has the expertise to shape ground-breaking products, material, and processes. What you'll achieve
As an Engineering Technologist, you will be responsible for developing long-term technology strategies and identifying and developing differentiation opportunities including delivering new PCBA technologies and logic solutions that scale across our next-generation enterprise portfolio. You will work with your CTIO and Engineering peers on new technology pathfinding on ARM, AMD & Intel CPU architectures.

You will:

  • Participate in research and development efforts to create industry-leading high-performance differentiated solutions incorporating CPU, DPU & memory interconnect architectures. Work closely with other Dell organizations, such as Product Management and Engineering to propose and lead technology incubation and prototype projects that create differentiation and add value to Dell's solutions in line with customer and industry trends.
  • Help set roadmap direction by working with Product Management creating vertical solutions for specific use cases. Inform and influence product groups in adoption of new technologies.
  • Maintain relationships with partner engineering teams and track their technology roadmap to remain aware of new developments. Drive integration of Dell products with technology partners' products to build end-to-end solutions.
  • Represent Dell in technology conferences, customer briefings, partner forums and other venues to represent Dell, to discuss technology direction and to showcase/present Dell's compute architecture solutions.
  • Contribute to IP creation via patents, technical conference publications, participation in research activities working with Engineering and CTIO peers.

Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics
  • 12+ years of experience working on multiple complex development or technology incubation initiatives (can be offset with an advanced degree)
  • Strong understanding of processor architecture (ARM in particular) as well as system-level design expertise working with server, networking, and/or storage technologies
  • Competency in both analog and digital design, proficiency with EE design and simulation tools, ECAD, and deep knowledge of PCB layout design practices
  • Knowledge of engineering methods in system design & architecture


Desirable Requirements
  • Hands-on experience in performance, benchmarks, distributed and scale-up/scale-out architectures. Knowledge of DPU technologies, memory interconnects, and system level integration
  • Experience with Cadence tool suite
