Learn more at careers.alight.com .Ongoing Operations■ Technical Subject Matter Expert related to Employment Tax issues for both SALT and IRS■ Responsible for calculation P&I abatement letter request related to Employment Tax issues■ Research and resolve payroll tax notices in a timely manner■ Communicates with IRS, driving abatement negotiations, placing account holds, and works to prevent escalated IRS collection efforts such as Levy, Lien, etc.■ Identifies and resolves escalations or complex issues with strong emphasis to associated patterns, trends and root cause analysis.■ Educates & coaches associates on processing, provides subject matter expertise related to employment tax filing■ Responsible for identification of issues; drive change for related improvements■ Communicates effectively with the client and internal partners regarding ongoing operations and problem solving with analysis/resolution of tax related issues■ Identify potential service delivery issues and provide input towards process improvement■ Escalate client non-compliance of processes and procedures■ Support offshoring initiatives■ Support formal internal and external audits■ Support and provide investigation on regulatory and compliance issues■ Properly research agency notices and documents SOP defect■ Support testing and maintenance of tax filing software■ Work and support new implementation of new clients■ Identifies and implements process improvementsQualifications■ Advanced understanding of payroll and tax and/or related subject matter desired■ CPA/CPP with Five years of work experience in Payroll Tax Filing or■ CPA/CPP with Ten years of work experience in a payroll group or■ CPA with Ten years of work experience in non-payroll SALT taxes or■ CPA with Ten years of work experience in various audit roles■ Basic understanding of regulatory and legislative guidelines in Payroll Tax.■ Ability to work under tight deadlines managing multiple tasks at a Service Bureau■ Excellent work ethic■ Team player with ability to coordinate effort■ Strong computer skills with current technical knowledgeBy applying for a position with Alight, you understand that, should you be made an offer, it will be contingent on your undergoing and successfully completing a background check consistent with Alight’s employment policies.
