Job Description:
-We are looking for a cost accountant for our client, a manufacturing company out of Gainesville, TX. The successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of accounting principles and a desire to learn a new ERP system.
-They should have cost accounting experience or a desire to learn cost accounting. This position will report directly to the controller and be expected to interact regularly with the operations team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Analyzing inventory valuations
-Reviewing cycle count variances and resolving issues
-Reviewing manufacturing cost reports
-Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process
-Assisting in month end close
Education Requirements:
-Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field
Qualifications:
-Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel
-If a recent graduate must be able to present a school transcript
-A firm understanding of US GAAP
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment
-Able to answer general accounting questions provided by client
-Desire to quickly learn a new ERP system
-Cost accounting experience, a plus but not a necessityâ
