Heavy Equipment General Helper
We are seeking an experienced and safety-oriented heavy equipment general helper to join our team and assist the operator in performing general grading and construction tasks. Our company performs residential house demolition, grading new building pads and performing rough and final grades. An individual with experience operating a track skid steer is a plus. Helper will assist Operator in safely loading, binding and transport equipment to and from yard to jobsite. Must have clean driving record and possess a valid Texas drivers license. The ideal candidate would seek to learn heavy equipment operation and obtain a CDL in the state of Texas. As the nature of our business is very fast paced, the helper must be willing and able to work overtime as required.
In addition to assisting Operator, you will be responsible for performing the following activities:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure no unauthorized individuals enter the work site while job site is active
Keep job site safe and clean during work activities.
When performing demolition activities, ensure that any debris that accidentally leaves the jobsite is immediately cleaned up.
Safely and efficiently operate small tools, gasoline powered chop saws and other varieties of equipment necessary to accomplish tasks
Ensure all tools are properly cared for and secured when not in use
Effectively communicate with Operator ensuring the safety of the job site remains top priority
Direct trucking activity delivering/picking up materials or roll off dumpsters
Assist Operator in performing regular checks, lubrication and cleaning of all heavy equipment
Document regular maintenance checks to maintain adequate records of equipment performance
Regularly clean small tools to preserve its quality and functionality
Perform minor repairs on equipment as necessary
Report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties
Abide by all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as all company safety procedures
Commit to the overall safety of the work environment by always taking extra precautions to work with the utmost care and consideration
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years of experience working with heavy equipment
Possession of a valid TX drivers license
Ability to maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair pieces of small heavy equipment
Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment
Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds
