Your Opportunity

The Enterprise Architecture team is looking for a software engineer to be a Knowledge Management developer for Schwab's Architecture Library, which is crucial to our mission to enable our developers to deliver the right products for our clients. This is a high visibility team with impact and interactions across Schwab. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills and technical experience who can contribute in a highly collaborative culture and Agile team environment. The ability to simplify and integrate complex technical information and concepts and deliver effective developer experience is key to success in this role.

What you are good at

  • Curate content, enhance visitor experience, manage content lifecycle and support the knowledge management systems for Enterprise Architecture and Office of the CTO, using Confluence, JIRA, and SharePoint/Office 365
  • Write, diagram, edit, and proofread technical content to deliver complex concepts in an engaging, concise and clear manner
  • Analyze stakeholder, architect, and developer needs, visitor journeys, content site usage and metadata to design improvements to the developer experience
  • Manage service development and delivery activities using Agile practices and tools including JIRA and Confluence
  • Support site operations including content publication, access control, and troubleshooting


What you have

  • 5+ years professional experience in software development, integration, or architecture
  • Experience building knowledge management solutions using Confluence, SharePoint, or other tools
  • Experience with user experience practices such as user research and usability evaluation
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to quickly analyze and succinctly synthesize data, develop recommendations, create presentations and present to management
  • Must be able to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies
  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Conceptual and practical familiarity with information architecture, Enterprise Architecture and application and technology architecture
  • Experience with relational database management systems using SQL (MS SQL Server preferred)
  • Experience with Tableau
