15 -20 years of experience at a principal level in a EI-based technical position supporting the operating environment of an IBM mainframe complex.
Minimum of 6-8 years in the senior level position or equivalent or 10-20 years of experience at or above the associate level position of OSP. Lateral transfers from related professional tracks may require both additional time and job experiences, certificates, and training.
The candidate must have

Competent skill in the following:
Basic technology and infrastructures:

• Storage systems, Tools, and their interfaces with z/OS
• Data structures, databases, files, and I/O

Business knowledge:

• Business and IT functional knowledge, collaboration, and relationship management,
• IT Strategy formulation, IT/Storage trends and emerging technologies,
• Operational excellence

Process Management:

• Desktop tooling, such as, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and emulator tools
• Work Planning
• ITIL lifecycle management
• TLM process for technology refresh
• Change management, Incident management, Problem management.
• Vendor relationship and partnership

Additionally, the candidate will need to possess

Expert skill in a large multi-plex, multi-site enterprise of the following:
Professional:

• Reading and Written communication, ability in computing literature of a highly technical nature,
• Problem solving, Flexibility and Adaptability, Innovation mindset
• Team leadership in an agile framework.

Advanced IBM zOS Mainframe Storage skills required.

• zOS replication solutions: GDPS, Global Mirror, XRC, Global Copy, PPRC, Flash Copy
• Advanced understanding of Storage Administrator software tools: DTS ACC/SRC, DFDSS, DFHSM, FDR PAS, Extended Addressing Volumes, Control-M, Dino T-REX/HSM AdminisaurRTD
• Complete understanding of VSAM Record Level Sharing (RLS) capabilities and applications
• Mastery of IDCAMS use access method services for system master and user catalogs.
• Understand the various types of VSAM structures, support for VSAM allocation and tuning.
• Advanced understanding of ICF Catalog structure, RLS enabled catalogs, and an ability to execute a Forward Catalog Recovery procedure in a live environment.
• Advanced understanding of IBM DS8K Storage platforms, IBM TS7700 family of Virtual Tape subsystems
• Understanding of advanced replication/copy solutions such as GDPS, Hyperswap, MzGM, MGM, zHL, zHW, HSM Fast Replication, Standard Flash Copy
• Understanding of emerging technologies such as SafeGuarded Copy, Pervasive Encryption, Remote Pair Flash Copy
• Possess expert debugging skills, and support incident triage.
• Advanced level understanding of other high-visibility products (Top Secret, Control-M, JES2 etc).
• High level understanding of data access methods (VSAM, IAM, PS, PDS, PDSE)
• Implement more complex/critical products which may be new or existing.
