Job overview:

10+ years of overall experience with at least 8 years as a Quality Engineering Automation Specialist. The QA SDET role is to develop and execute exploratory as well as automated tests in order to ensure data quality. QA SDET's responsibilities include estimating, planning and coordinating testing activities. The QA SDET will also ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked and resolved.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: Create Test strategy and update the strategy for each scheduled releases as needed Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities Understand the existing functional scenarios and design, develop and execute automation scripts Understand the existing automation frameworks and work on enhancement of the existing framework Strategize, Design, implement and monitor DevOps process and procedures Identify, record, document thoroughly and track/triage bugs Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved Catalog and maintain test scenario library Present testing results and progress to management team Forward Plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality

Required skills: Experience in working on large scale data integration projects Hands on experience in design, development and roll out of Automation frameworks Experience testing Data Warehouse, ETL, and Big Data environments and have defined test approaches for testing data warehouse projects Experience in creating testing strategies and engineering best practices related to software test engineering, both manual and automated testing Experience in root cause analysis and defect diagnosis techniques Experience with implementation of test automation for data warehouse testing Experience writing Java/Python scripts to automate test cases Experience working in Agile Advanced knowledge of software development life cycle Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion Demonstrated effective analytical skills Advanced written and verbal communication skills Advanced hands-on experience in building automated regression testing capabilities using technologies such as Java, Python, etc. Strong SQL skills Strong troubleshooting skills Ability to work independently within a quickly changing environment with strict deadlines; to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Ability to summarize and present test results and progress to management Exceptional customer service orientation Highly Preferable Experience in testing Big Data, working with Informatica and Talend ETL tools, and Teradata Data Warehouse Experience writing complicated SQL statements and PL/SQL code to test data flow and perform data analysis. Experience in testing Data Warehouse/Big Data in cloud environment. Preferably in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) Experience in using Agile tools such as Jira, Rally etc. Highly knowledgeable in DevOps Concepts and hands on experience in using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket etc. General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office with expert level knowledge of Excel, working knowledge of QA testing software, QA methodologies, tools, and processes Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases

Preferred Skills: Knowledge in using Control M Performance Testing expertise and using Performance Testing/monitoring tools such as JMeter, AppDynamics etc.
