Do you want to be part of an enterprise data solutions team managing over 4 petabytes of data and building the next-generation analytics platform for a leading financial firm with over $8 trillion in assets under management? At Schwab, the Data & Rep Technology (DaRT) organization owns the strategy, implementation, delivery, and support of the enterprise data warehouse and emerging data platforms.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for release management in large scale data warehousing organization and comes with a data engineering background. Someone who wants to be challenged every day and has a passion for keeping up to date on new technologies in the Data Engineering space set new standards for Schwab's hundreds of ETL developers and collaborates with the team members along the way.

What you are good at

  • Document, and facilitate Release Management meetings supporting multiple Data Warehousing and ETL development teams and stakeholders.
  • Implement and manage release processes for application related updates through development, test, and production environments. Continually look for making improvements in the release process
  • Provide oversight for deployment of releases into production environments through ensuring release readiness and adequate deployment list handoff to Service Delivery
  • Interface and communicate with Test Managers, Dev Managers, IT Ops and the PM
  • Build the Cloud migration and the ETL Release Calendar in working closely with the cloud migration team and various development teams from different portfolios and centralize all the release views
  • As a Production Release Coordinator/Manager, you will coordinate release content and effort based on the development request backlog, pending service requests, and business priorities
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations and various vendors
  • Conduct Release Readiness Reviews, Milestones reviews and business Go/No Go reviews
  • Review deployment plans, rollback plans, resource plans, and communication plans
  • Weekly & Monthly Release reports to leadership and stakeholders
  • Negotiate, plan, and manage all release activities with various ETL development teams, Cloud migration team, and Control-M scheduling team.
  • Participate and coordinate the Go live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists
  • Participate in the CAB meetings to discuss and review release scopes and/or roadblocks as needed


What you have

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in release management and coordination with multiple teams and vendors.
  • Must have release management experience in ETL or Data Warehousing organization. Previous hands-on ETL development experience would be beneficial to be successful in this role.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changes quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and mathematical skills, using sound judgment
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
