Company: US6469 Sysco Payroll, Division of Sysco Resources Services, LLCZip Code:77077Employment Type:Full TimeTravel Percentage: Up to 25%Reporting to the VP & Treasurer, Sysco’s new Senior Director, Risk Management will lead the company’s risk management, insurance, and claims functions globally, and focus on Sysco’s Total Cost of Risk. In addition, they will manage relationships with brokers, insurers, third-party claims administrators, and actuaries, and assist with the Enterprise Risk Management program. This role is a strategic partner to Finance, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), Legal, Business Continuity, Cyber Security and business unit leaders. The role is based in Houston and leads a team of insurance and claims professionals.Key responsibilitiesGlobal Risk Management: Strategic utilization of traditional, captive, and alternative risk financing capacity based on data analytics to improve safety performance (in collaboration with EHS) and optimize decision making.

Insurance and Claims: Proactively manage robust global insurance programs including property, casualty, management liability and cyber lines and identify opportunities to broaden coverage and manage cost whilst decreasing the long-term Total Cost of Risk.

Captive Management: Oversee Texas-based captive insurer and identify cost-effective opportunities for captive utilization.

Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor and develop a diverse set of colleagues to reach their potential and meet the needs of the business today and in the future.

Ideal experienceA minimum of 15 years’ experience in risk management and insurance, evidencing progressive career growth.

Exceptional depth of knowledge of risk management, including captive insurance, and claims.

Experience managing large deductible insurance programs, including the importance of working closely with finance and actuarial professionals on accounting reserves for retained losses

People management skills, including a proven ability to provide training and development to junior colleagues as part of a coordinated and strategic talent development plan.

Thinks “big picture” and viewed as a senior adviser and business partner to management.

An undergraduate degree is required.

A degree in finance, business, accounting, or related area is preferred.

A recognized risk management and insurance professional designation such as ARM, CPCU, and CRM and/or a M.B.A. is preferred.

Experience with fleet and transportation risk is preferred.

Experience with enterprise risk management and non-US operating environments is preferred.

Experience across various industries and sectors is preferred.

Experience with and a working knowledge of risk management information systems is preferred.
