Serve as the primary technical resource supporting Xtime Product production networks and security in the AWS cloud.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage, optimize, and support the AWS Cloud Xtime Product production Saas services as a 24x7 high availability environment
  • Oversee and monitor systems and network security, recommending and implementing technology, processes, and practices to protect Xtime Product networks and computer assets from threats
  • Support integration between multiple AWS cloud regions and accounts, along with connectivity to on-premise datacenters
  • Work with third parties and cloud service providers to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues and automate processes; manage relationships and troubleshoot with Internet Service Providers and carriers
  • Define and implement AWS AMIs (Machine Images)
  • Support SaaS services with Oncall 24x7 rotation expectations
  • Support Linux application and database servers, F5 virtual edition load balancers, containers in Kubernetes infrastructure
  • Define and implement all major AWS services such as - IAM, EC2, EBS, VPCs, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, ElasticSearc, ELBs, SSM, etc. Understand and implement using AWS constructs such as SecurityGroups, roles and policies, VPC networking
  • Work with enterprise security staff to report and mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Capacity plan, identify trends, and construct proactive plans to address needs
  • Provide on call support as necessary for production environments and services
  • Report on AWS usage, costs and budget forecasts - and enforce plans and budgets against development teams

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in related field and 7 years of related experience; MS with 5 years experience; Ph.D. with 2 years experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • 7 or more years of experience in systems and cloud administration supporting mid-size to large companies
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling an IT infrastructure and services including networks, firewalls, security, and internet technologies
  • Strong knowledge of tcp networking fundamentals
  • Understanding of how to deploy and manage service in AWS - mastery with AWS console and awscli interfaces
  • Mastery of terraform or similar cloud automation tools
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies - ie ECS, Kubernetes, Fargate, EKS, etc
  • Linux operating system administration and setup skills in Java/Oracle environments
Preferred Skills
  • Strong networking skills with proven, in-depth experience managing virtual PaaS networking in the AWS cloud
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, IPsec, SSL/IPSec client and site-to-site VPN
  • Experience with F5 Networks load balancing
  • Able to work independently with solid project management skills including the ability to scope projects, analyze alternatives, make management recommendations, and implement solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • AWS certification or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge and experience in security systems and methods for multi-site distributed environments
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
