As part of the Northrop Grumman (GBSD) team, Our client will provide launch infrastructure design and construction. Duties may include future field assignments at USAF bases or project field locations as applicable to the phase of the project (California, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming).Position Summary:

The Safety Specialist helps develop and execute the safety and occupational health component of an Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESandH) program. This involves administrative and field tasks per established industry practices, procedures, and regulatory and Bechtel requirements. The position requires practical application of occupational safety and related disciplines for managing safety and health aspects of a project or facility. The position reports to an ESandH Manager or Designee. Provides technical assistance to other Safety Services Specialists, construction supervision, subcontractor personnel, field engineers, and client personnel.Responsibilities:

Executes assignments involving significant safety and health issues and risks, using judgment and experience in the application of scientific techniques and plans to reduce the potential for adverse impacts.

Integrates safety and health requirements into proposals, planning documents, design, construction, commissioning and startup, operations, schedules, procurement, and subcontract documents.

Provides input on bid decisions, proposal development, and estimates (scope, constraints, schedules, budgets) with respect to integration and compliance with safety and health requirements.

Interprets requirements and provides technical assistance within ESandH teams and to other project groups regarding risk and hazard assessment, plan preparation, and ESandH program execution.

Researches issues and regulatory requirements, performs studies and risk assessments, and prepares documentation and reports.

Performs safety studies, risk assessments, and other safety and health reviews.

Drafts and helps implement the project Safety and Health Management Plan, associated plans and procedures, and training program.

Helps establish emergency preparedness and performs incident investigations.

Helps identify stakeholders and resolve their concerns.
