Roosevelt's Veteran Clinic is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join the team. Schedule: M-F, 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Other: No weekends; No on-call
MA / Phlebotomist Responsibilities:
Answer the telephone, relay messages, take appropriate action required
Ensure patient information, eligibility verification, insurance date, means test co-payments are completed and updated on each visit, assist patients with completion of paperwork, etc.
Schedule appointments in VISTA
Provide assistance during patient visits, determine the nature of requests, and initiate action to complete patient processing
Recognize delays/problems in Veterans' processing for medical care and take appropriate action
Perform phlebotomy, prepare and label blood and urine specimens, complete required paperwork for lab processing, and package specimen for transport
Maintain, prepare, and ensure proper completion of all lab test info/data for input into the computer system and completion of medical records
Measure vital signs and perform EKGs and other procedures as appropriate
Prepare treatment rooms and patients for examination
Clinical/Receptionist duties as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
MA / Phlebotomist Qualifications:
CERTIFICATION AS A MEDICAL ASSISTANT IS REQUIRED
Min. of one (1) year relevant medical practice experience required
Phlebotomy experience required
Must hold a current and valid BLS certification by the AHA
Annual PPD test
