Background
This Director-level position, suitable for a professional with senior-level financial operations leadership experience (CFO and/or Controller), represents an opportunity to work in a revenue-generating position for an innovative financial services company. Teleport provides a financial data platform and related advisory services to high-growth technology companies that are backed by top-tier venture capital firms looking to build leading-edge financial operations. Our customers include leading executive management teams in SaaS, Fintech, Media/Advertising, and other related technology segments.
Role Description
We are looking for an individual who wants to leverage their financial leadership skills to take a revenue-generating operational role working directly with customers. A successful candidate will need to be familiar with the latest technological trends in financial operations, be able to interact with clients and Teleport staff to engineer and execute on projects to onboard and maintain customers on Teleports platform. While our management team and client base is primarily located in the San Francisco Bay Area, this position will be located in Salt Lake City. Some travel will be required between the two cities. Going forward, we plan to establish an office in the Salt Lake area, and will rely on this hire to help attract and build an exciting culture that thrives on innovation and growth.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead ongoing operational activities for clients, including financial reporting, general ledger maintenance and accounts reconciliations, implementation and maintenance of operational and financial internal controls, GAAP financial statements, evaluation and implementation of accounting systems, and creation and administration of cash and equity compensation plans
- Work directly with senior management team to sell/market and execute on engagements, including pitching potential clients, managing and training accounting and client resources, and providing clients with technology-driven services and advice.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of financial/accounting experience working with a variety of technology companies
- Bachelors Degree and Certified Public Accountant certification
- Comfortable implementing and using financial software systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Expensify, Gusto and Bill.com
- Fluent in GAAP Accounting and SAAS-based financial guidelines
- History managing financial audits
- Expertise in federal, state and local level tax issues and procedures
