Student cohorts run year-round beginning the summer before freshmen year (high school) leading into college. The program provides access to university systems, coursework, mentors, and a learning community to prepare for college success. PATHS aims to help students be successful both academically and socially by focusing on programming elements of education and career exploration, innovation skills, leadership and teamwork, and research and writing.PATHS is currently looking for a Curriculum Designer to develop scaffolded curriculum and teaching material that fit the mission and elements of the program. They will also work with community and campus partners and content specialists to develop and deliver content and, hire, train and manage other staff, mentors and tutors to aid in content delivery. Further this Curriculum Designer will be expected to begin implementation of the coursework in both in-person and virtual settings along with other PATHS staff.ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Design and Implementation: Develop engaging college-preparatory curriculum to explore fields of study and higher education options; craft personal statements; complete college applications; explore scholarships and financial aid. Develop life skills workshops and other curriculum in line with PATHS mission Work with community partners to develop and deliver curriculum in STEM , the arts and other academic fields Coordinate and implement both in person and online content.Educational case management: Refine existing educational and social milestones for students to reach year to year Some interfacing with high school students to encourage participation in PATHS programming Facilitate parts of staff and volunteer training May plan and coordinate outreach publicity activities by determining priorities, preparing a business plan, coordinating advertising materials and/or marketing programs to individuals and organizations. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.Preferences Experience teaching, lesson planning and/or designing curriculum particularly at a high school level Thorough understanding of diverse (a)genders and (a)sexualities, racial and ethnic diversity, and social justice Strong work ethic and willingness to work the expected and unexpected hours necessary to interface with students during their free time(ie occasional evenings and weekends). Completion of a graduate degree, particularly in education or similar. Experience teaching in an online or distance learning format. Experience in teaching from a perspective of cultural relevance. Experience working with high school students, particularly those from diverse backgrounds and communities.
