It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required of employees assigned the job.Responsibilities1. Provides excellent customer service to all students, staff, employees, and visitors on the University of Utah Campus.2. Patrols University parking lots on foot, by bicycle, and/or by patrol vehicle checking for proper permits, parking violations, and issuing citations as outlined by the University of Utah and the State of Utah.3. Providing visitors and registered users of the campus parking system information and assistance in understanding parking and traffic regulations and informing of the availability of parking in various areas of the University.4. Processes copies of issued citations and completes forms related to work performed during shift.5. Assists Supervisors with impounding vehicles with excessive outstanding tickets, in tow away zones, or as directed by authorized entities in accordance with departmental procedure.Minimum QualificationsTwo years related parking enforcement experience, or equivalency; a valid Utah’s Driver’s License; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. Must be able to pass a background review.PreferencesProblem solving skills. Demonstrated computer experience including word processing and excel spread sheet skills. Knowledge of U of U commuter policy and procedures and Utah State Parking Codes. Ability to evaluate and resolve parking payments and issues as well as payment options for impounded customers. Ability to handle high stress and crisis situations; and have a commitment to provide excellent customer service.
