Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionThis job position is for Senior Program Manager, based out of BD's Salt Late City(Utah) office in US.BD is a leading medical device manufacturing company in the world and our vision @ BD is to Advance the World of Health. One of the Business unit helping to deliver on this vision of BD is MDS (Medication Delivery Solutions) which has various products in its $4B portfolio like Catheters, Hypodermic syringes, Flush syringes and Infusion sets etc. to name few. These products are sold globally and EU is a significant portion of our overall revenue.With recent changes in regulatory requirements in EU in the form of Medical Device Regulations, we have kick started an EUMDR Program focusing on each individual Business Group of MDS to meet these new guidelines and requirements. We are looking for an energetic Senior Program Manager to lead program management activities on this critical Program for our VAD Business group cross functional team.The successful candidate will be part of MDS PMO organization, reporting direct line into the MDS - Lean Program Director. The position is located in BD’s Salt Lake CIty (Utah) site. The candidate will be in charge of VAD EUMDR program. The candidate will have to manage the multi-cross-functional activities of the program and lead team through their deliverable, and own the program plan.In this role, the candidate will have to execute and deliver on this business critical program under the supervision of the PMO-CoE Director, and working closely with VAD R&D and cross functional teams, as well as central MDS EUMDR core team.The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing streamlined processes and tools for project prioritization and resource allocation; milestone tracking and reporting; and overall project portfolio governance. The span of responsibility includes project and resource planning for an organization consisting of over 20 current associates (full-time and contingent) spread globally.Experience
Applies extensive technical expertise & has full knowledge of related disciplines. Develops technical and business process solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. In partnership with the platform and core team members, leads the development and commercialization, go to market and launch strategy for the project(s).
Responsible for the creation of the project work breakdown structures, risk management, integrated business plans and product requirements. Leads the cross functional development of product architecture for each functional area, synthesizes functional plans and identifies critical inter dependencies to drive successful execution of the project.
Technical and business skills and judgment to significantly influence the technical and business direction of the project. Able to create and influence novel thinking of the team.
Ability to communicate complex technical and business issues completely, concisely, and effectively to enable high-quality decision making and drive cross-functional alignment.
Has a thorough understanding of all functional work streams in a phase gate process and a vision of an integrated project plan.
Finds and creates new avenues of excellence. Self-starting and will take action without prompting or direction from others to solve problems.

Represents the organization as the prime contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
Scope of Responsibility
Create and effectively manage Change To Win Program portfolio along with CTW R&D Leader.
Executes a project or multiple projects of medium scale and moderate complexity by leading cross functional teams individually or with an additional project leader. Examples would be larger and more complex new product development line extensions or new product ideas towards Change To Win.
Financial viability of projects, help create ROI model and prioritization and selection model based on business case for proposals.
Responsible for the execution, quality and results of the project and the success of the resulting product for the business or in the market.
Demonstrate leadership, learning agility and action orientation when facing uncertainty. Instill confidence through leadership and actions.
Interacts with functional managers and business leaders to communicate regarding critical project risks, questions or challenges.
Challenges core team members, functional leaders and business leaders regarding functional and cross functional strategies and approaches in order to improve product development outcomes.

Complete understanding of a wide application of project management principles, theories & concepts.
Requirements:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a closely related degree is required. An advanced degree in an engineering discipline is preferred.
At least 10 years relevant experience in product development and design is needed.
5+ years of experience leading/working with cross-functional, global teams through complex projects or programs. Program management experience preferred.
Experience in new product development planning multiple work-streams, identifying risk and implementing action plans to optimize timelines and reduce execution risk.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and influencing skills.
Preferred Skills:
PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
Has successfully launched medical device products from concept through launch.
Experience working with regulatory bodies for medical device registration and approval.
Experience developing Class II and III medical devices.
Experience utilizing combination of analytical, statistical, computational, and empirical methods to gain deep understanding of design and minimize overall development timelines
