A sorority house at the University of Utah is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable kitchen assistant to help with preparing food, cleaning, dining room set up, and some dishwashing. As a small operation, we all work together to see to the success of the kitchen by serving food on time and keeping our work space clean. Employees will enjoy not having late nights or weekend shifts.
Job Title: Kitchen assistant
Pay: Starting at $11/hour
Hours: This is a part-time position.
Monday 2:00-8:00
Tue-Thur 4:00-7:00
Hours are somewhat flexible.
Start date is August 10th with some hours available before then for semester prep.
Duties include:
Preparing food according to the chefs instructions
Storing food properly in temperature safe conditions
Storing deliveries properly in a timely manner
Setting up the dining room for dinner
Following safe food handling and service practices
Inspecting and cleaning food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
Keeping the kitchen work space clean
Washing dishes as soon as possible
Cleaning the kitchen at the end of the day
Requirements:
Utah food handlers license or Servsafe certification
Strong interpersonal skills
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required
