Life InsuranceRESPONSIBILITIES:
The Dock Worker position is responsible for the off-loading/on-loading of freight in a safe manner, properly packaging and labeling freight, preparing delivery paperwork accurately, all while working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Some of the specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Helping to ensure that goods and freight are delivered safely, efficiently, and free from damage
Efficiently sorting, handling, loading and unloading both palletized and non-palletized freight
Operating applicable devices for tracking shipments
Securing freight inside trailers utilizing necessary tools and equipment
Verifying and completing required paperwork as needed
Interacting frequently with terminal personnel while maintaining professionalism at all times
Safely handling hazardous materials as required
MUST BE COMPUTER LITERATE. Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel is REQUIRED.QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends depending on varying freight volumes
Prior dock/warehouse experience required (in transportation industry a plus)
Prior forklift experience required
Prior pallet jack experience preferred
Prior experience loading and unloading preferred
Must be able to follow safety procedures at all times
Pre-employment negative drug test and criminal background clearance
Ability to read, speak and interpret the English language
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Previous delivery experience a plus
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move 50+pounds
Prior experience loading and unloading preferred
Must be able to follow safety procedures at all times
Computer experience is Required
