Job Description:
This position is responsible for hydraulic modeling using pipeline simulation software to optimize pipeline operations, calculate pipeline capacity, and assess facility expansion opportunities. The position determines new facilities required to satisfy business development projects and develops cost estimates to support each project request.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
Provides system planning analysis and cost estimating; supplies system outage analysis; defines system constraints and determines throughput maximization to optimize the system's performance.
Evaluates project alternatives to enhance business opportunities and increase customer service; develops project scopes and economic feasibility to support operations and marketing strategies.
Researches and identifies new and alternative technologies to promote a safe, reliable and efficient pipeline operation.
Develops and maintains pipeline hydraulic models to support overall throughput activities.
Researches and participates in the evaluation of Kern River's transmission system constraints or expansions.
Makes recommendations and participates in the development of alternatives to optimize gas flow through available receipt/delivery points through the use of a transient and/or steady-state hydraulic model.
