Accounting/Payroll Specialist
Cox Trucking, a longstanding leader in the Southern Utah trucking industry, has an immediate opening for an Accounting/Payroll Specialist. The ideal candidate will have managed payroll services with a trucking company and understands miles as a measurement of pay. Prefer candidate who has knowledge of integrating driver pay data from the company transportation software to a payroll system. This position will also provide other accounting duties as assigned for the company.
Position Duties:
Process weekly payroll for 125 employees of Cox Trucking via an automated payroll resource.
Work with drivers and dispatchers to obtain information to make settlement payment to drivers.
Create and run custom reports to verify payroll data and provide information to management.
Assure payroll taxes are made on time and are 100% accurate.
Assist in integration of new payroll system to automate vacation pay and other pay elements.
Accounting duties as assigned in job description and by Sr. Accountant
Position Requirements:
AA or BA in Accounting or equivalent applicable experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly excel and word
Ability to check work until data is 100% correct
Experience in payroll functions such as employment tax, workers compensation and FMLA coordination payments.
Experience in the trucking industry preferred, but not required
1-2 years experience in an accounting position working with general ledge and balance sheet entry and reporting
Additional 1-2 years experience in running payroll for a company of over 100 employees
Excellent in verbal and written communication
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Able to work under pressure
Verifiable experience of providing excellent customer service to internal customers
