Ensure completion of jobs in a timely manner; while maintaining workmanship quality standards.
Setting up and loading new jobs.
Measure parts as needed.
Cleaning and deburring parts as needed.
Practice safety policies and procedures within production.
Practice good housekeeping practices within production.
Adhere to policies and procedures for the physical control of inventory, including identification of material and job status, and accurate reporting of lot tracking information.
Provide feedback and suggestions to supervisor relating to improvement of product quality or manufacturability.
Provide routine maintenance on equipment and contact Supervisor for when professional assistance is needed.
Monitor availability of Machine Shop supplies and report to Supervisor for re ordering.
Monitor availability and condition of production tools and report to Supervisor when replacements are necessary.
Improve and Maintain existing production process fixtures.
Three years of CNC machining experience.
Knowledge and theory of cutting
Knowledge of work piece holding tools (chuck, fixtures, tailstock) in order to determine the machining method that ensures safe and accurate operation.
Ability to determine the appropriate cutting tools by taking into consideration the work piece material, spindle speed, feed-rate, and depth of cut, to prevent problems, which might occur during machining.
Understand the machining performance of the machine to be used.
Understand the safety devices and interlock functions featured by the machine to be used.
Become familiar with the functions related to programming.
Blueprint reading, measuring equipment use and techniques.
EDUCATION, COMPETENCE, TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGEHigh school diploma
Good verbal and written communication skills
FAMILIARIZATION AND USE HAVE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENTSafety glasses and other safety protection equipment where required
Familiar with current hazardous materials warnings, signs and symbols and any other related safety precautions.
Understanding of material safety data sheets for materials handled in area of responsibility
