Job Description

We are looking for an Account Manager to join our Personal Lines Team nearby to our Brattleboro, Bellows Falls, Bennington, Manchester, Middlebury, Norwich, orWilmington locations.

The primary job responsibilities of the Personal Lines Account Manager are:

  • Pursue crossline sales and solicit cross-sale opportunities with existing clients.
  • Rating/quoting on company systems.
  • Act as the relationship builder with the account.
  • Remarket existing policies as necessary due to non-renewals, or to obtain more competitive pricing and/or coverage for insured.
  • Serve as liaison between client and carriers.. Respondto all client inquiries.
  • Apply knowledge of products and services to best meet client needs.
  • Endorsement processing, taking the first report of claims.
  • Maintain accurate up to date client information and files, ensuring clear and complete documentation.
  • Work as part of a team to develop new accounts and expanded business opportunities.
  • Look for additional revenue on the book of business in the form of increased coverage, account rounding, adding policy features, and generating referrals for new business.
  • The Account Manager will proactively develop long-term relationships with carriers, clients, and the organization and provide superior service to new and existing clients.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior industry experience preferred.
  • An active Property & Casualty License is preferred.
  • Must have Integrity; A positive attitude; Highly professional; Reliable; Focused; Detailed; Efficient; Must be a Team player and highly self-motivated.
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service.
  • Very strong attention to detail and accuracy of information.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organization skills.
  • Computer skills that are highly accurate and efficient.
  • Experience using AMS 360 or similar software program.

  • Please note that due to COVID-19 the majority of The Richards Group staff are working from home and this position will be remote for the foreseeable future.
  • Account Managers must attain a Property and Casualty License in the required timeafterstarting with The Richards Group.
