We are a small, private preschool, seeking a teacher for 40 hours per week. We are inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia, and utilize an emergent, play-based approach to curriculum. We are NAEYC accredited, and are looking for a team member to be a part of our strong community. Someone who is passionate about teaching young children, happy to be outdoors most days of the year, and looking forward to forming strong, lasting relationships with children, families, and co-teachers.

An ideal candidate would be qualified for at least a teacher associate role according to the Vermont State Licensing Regulations, although we will consider a teacher assistant who is working towards this level.

Duties:

-Develop, document, and reflect upon emergent curriculum to meet developmental goals and activities

-Have respectful communication with families, children, and co-workers

-Follow all licensing guidelines

-Advance your personal professional development and keep records in BFIS and a physical portfolio

-Provide a safe, thriving, loving, and respectful environment for all students in the center

-Maintain center cleanliness and organization

-Work extremely well as a member of a collaborative teaching team

-Use TSG and other forms of assessment to formally asses the children in your core group twice per year

Requirements:

-At least successful completion of some college classes in child development, or completion of the Fundamentals course

-Associates or Bachelors degree preferred

-1 year of teaching experience preferred

-Oral and written communication skills

-Ability to build relationships effectively and professionally with families and students

-Experience developing and implementing curriculum

-Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the room, as well as lifting children and other physical requirements of teaching

-Ability to maintain a safe and confidential classroom environment

-CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to gain such certification upon employment
