We are two families who live across the street from each other, each with a first grade student who attends Flynn Elementary. Our plan is to keep both children home full-time, so we’re looking for an experienced person with teaching credentials to support their remote learning throughout the school year. The plan would be for this person to teach in-person within one of our homes and to leverage the curriculum provided by the school district and supplement as needed.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all remote learning activities for both students simultaneously
- Ensure participation in and help facilitate videoconferencing sessions with Flynn as needed
- Provide a stable, safe, fun and dynamic learning environment
Qualifications
- Degree in Elementary Education preferred
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Willingness to submit to a background check
Our goal is to find someone who has taken and continues to take appropriate precautions in regards to COVID, as both of our families have made an ongoing commitment to keep our inner circle as tight as possible. Our hope is to find someone who can help us establish consistency and a sense of normalcy for our children throughout the school year.
Location: We’re looking for someone who can teach in a dedicated classroom space within one of our homes, which we believe will also help establish consistency
Time Commitment
- 3 hours per day (preferably mornings)
- A minimum of 3 days per week (this is negotiable if the qualified candidate is looking for more days)
