The Vermont Youth Conservation Corps (VYCC) believes young people change the world.
We are looking for 2019 Crew Leaders who are excited to make a difference, spend time outside and work on a small team. Crew Leaders are excited and passionate about leading young people to complete conservation and farm projects, while helping them grow and enhance job and leadership skills. Over 250 young people will get paid this summer and fall to be part of VYCCâs award winning Conservation and Farm programs. There are a variety of short or long-term experiences on our crews including: AmeriCorps service positions, camping crews, day crews, internships, and on-going education.
Requirements:
-Applicants must be at least 20 years of age
-Must have a Wilderness First Aid (or be willing to certify, we offer the class May 20 & 21)
-Ability to adapt and be flexible in a variety of situations
-Strong work ethic and ability to work long days in challenging conditions
-Conservation: Trail work, carpentry, and/or watershed work experience preferred
-Leadership experience with diverse groups of young people; outdoor leadership experience preferred
-Maturity, optimism and a sense of humor
-Belief in VYCC's mission to teach personal responsibility
-A good driving record and a valid driver's license held for a minimum of 3 years
-Willingness to undergo a criminal background check
