Lahey also helps to advance medicine through research and the education of tomorrow's health care leaders.About the Job The Department:The Health Information Management (HIM) Department is responsible for the quality, integrity, and protection of patient health information, supporting clinical, business, regulatory and legal interests of the facility.The HIM Department colleagues serve in liaison roles, connecting clinical, operational and administrative functions, affecting the quality of patient information and patient care at every touch point along the healthcare delivery cycle.HIM colleagues ensure the organization has the right information on hand when and where it is needed while maintaining the highest standards of health data integrity, confidentiality, and security. As technology advances, the role of the HIM Department is to adapt to new methods of capturing health information, storing that information, and easily accessing it electronically. Their role is important in order to maintain complete, timely, organized and accurate electronic data that supports the facility daily operations.Position Summary: Under the direction of their supervisor, serves as the main point of contact for the HIM department for a designated clinical area. Responsible for managing and prioritizing the electronic scanning and indexing of all medical documents for a designated area. Responsible for validating accuracy of indexed documents and presentation of documents in EHR. Minimum Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalentSkills, Knowledge & Abilities: Ability to work independently, to effectively organize and prioritize workflow tasks, and to effectively, professionally and clearly communicate with customers in a positive manner.
