Job Description
Attention to Detail is your primary mission! We are a raw & roasted vegetarian kitchen with a enormous commitment to cleanliness and the environment. We handle organic, local, and sustainable ingredients and care for reusable service utensils that require DETAILED hand washing everyday: including bamboo straws and hand-blown drinking glasses. In fact, we hand wash and recycle over 50,000 glass jars a year! ALL this in addition to our everyday cleaning and food prep responsibilities. In other words - The Tomgirl Team is looking for a Back of House NINJA that can help us GET READY + WORK CLEAN.
Job Requirements
1. MUST possess laser vision [or its earthly equivalent] and feel dedicated to noticing and attacking the dirty details. Everyday is an adventure in polishing spots and specks on dishes, jars, straws, surface areas and equipment! We are looking for the right team member to embrace [and surpass] the challenge!
2. Food Handling experience is an absolute prerequisite. You must be able to handle a knife and cutting board, and boogie in the kitchen! We can teach you what we need with our daily prep lists.
3. Must LOVE to create a well-organized work space for themselves and others.
4. Must possess a high tolerance for Latin music and be willing to sing along while you muscle through limes and fresh ginger.
5. Dont be shy. If you're caught in between FOH and BOH realms, we are looking for someone with a willingness to interact with customer and be a friendly face. We can always point someone in the right direction.
6. Must be comfortable being a team player. Because YES we all need each others help taking out the compost, answering the phone, racing to the rescue of a thirsty customer or unclogging a drain.
7. A sense of humor is required :) Although we hustle, we smile and laugh a lot!
8. Openness to work on weekends is a huge plus (but not a requirement).
9. And last, but not least, is a commitment to grow with Tomgirl as it continues to spread health & wellbeing in the community!
