Green Mountain Suites located near beautiful Lake Champlain and the downtown Church Street Marketplace in Burlington Vermont has immediate opening for an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsibilities include assisting the Executive Housekeeper to manage operation of the Housekeeping Department.
Coaches and supports associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards.
Monitors inventory of equipment and supplies periodically to ensure adequate levels are in stock and avoid over ordering.
Inspect guest rooms, public areas and grounds for cleanliness, appearance and safety.
Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and resolve guests complaints and concerns.
Assists the Executive Housekeeper with establishes standards and procedures for the Housekeeping team, in regards to the direction of work, service, and performance; verifies team members scheduling, payroll, overtime and other related services.
Observe and monitor staff performance to ensure efficient operations and adherence to policies and procedures.
Prepare schedules based upon occupancy and assign duties to workers and schedule shifts or notify vendor of weekly staffing needs.
Take inventory and submit periodic inventory orders to insure supplies are purchased in a timely manner.
Assist in preparation of required paperwork pertaining to departmental functions.
Be aware of and communicate guest service scores to drive improvement and higher guest satisfaction.
Follow sustainability guidelines and practices.
Practice safe work habits; follow OSHA standards; wear protective safety equipment and participate in safety committees as directed.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Work Environment and Context
Work schedule varies and may include working on holidays, weekends and alternate shifts.
Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
Requirements:
HS Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum two years of Supervisory experience in the same or related position is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact in a professional, service oriented manner with all staff levels, Managers, and Hotel Guests.
Strong time management skills, and the ability to multi-task, prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Ability to complete tasks individually and work in a team environment.
