The Sun & Ski Inn and Suites is a 39-room hotel centrally located on Mountain Road, providing both a quiet spot along the West Branch River and convenient access to local shops and restaurants. Accommodations vary from standard rooms with 1-2 beds to suites with a kitchen and fireplace. Guests can enjoy our onsite glass-enclosed pool, fitness room, complimentary breakfast, eight-lane bowling lounge (Stowe Bowl) and 18-hole miniature golf course in the summer (Stowe Golf Park).

POSITION:
The Sun & Ski Inn and Suites is seeking an experienced and dependable facilities & maintenance assistant to join our fun and friendly workplace. This position is best suited for someone who enjoys a wide variety of preventive maintenance tasks, contributing to our guests’ exceptional family experience via well-kept buildings and grounds.
On a daily basis, our facilities & maintenance assistant will ensure that
(1) the building is properly maintained (rooms and public space);
(2) in-room guest needs related to maintenance repairs are tended to a in a quick, efficient and friendly manner;
(3) special maintenance projects are completed throughout the hotel (including pool, spa, and bowling lanes).
Our facilities & maintenance assistant will pay attention to details and have a can-do attitude as well as a friendly, professional demeanor.
Weekend and holiday shifts required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Guest room preventative maintenance such as (light) painting, battery replacement, smoke detector checks, and HVAC cleaning.
- Repair items brought to attention by hotel guests and co-workers.
- Perform minor building and equipment preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain the pool and whirlpool spa area.
- Clean and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel lobby, hallways, public restrooms and public areas of the hotel.
- Clean and maintain the appearance of the surrounding areas of the hotel, including the sidewalk, patios, parking lot and landscaping.
- Maintain bowling lanes, pinsetters, pins, ball returns, bowling balls, scoring equipment and all other related mechanical components.
- Perform regular servicing and preventative maintenance procedures on all bowling equipment.
- Maintain company safety guidelines and procedures.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant 1+ years related experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Basic mechanical skills and knowledge are helpful. You will be trained on how to maintain the bowling equipment, including: the use of basic tools, lubrication equipment, meters, power tools, ability to troubleshoot equipment problems on sophisticated machinery and to perform precision mechanical and electrical adjustments.
- Detail-oriented with ability to prioritize and manage time.
- Self-motivated and cooperative. Perform tasks with minimal supervision or as teammate.
- Problem solving and decision making.
- Customer service and high-quality standards.
- The work can be repetitive and physically demanding, requiring frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and shoveling.
- Good working knowledge of accepted standards of safety and sanitation.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and other team members.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
This position has a start pay range of $19-$20/hour.
