Summary of Position:
The Intervale Center seeks a dynamic, mission-driven Sales and Marketing Manager to join our team in Burlington, Vermont. For 30 years, the Intervale Center has led a community food revolution that sustains farms, land and people. We have pioneered farm and food innovations like Community Supported Agriculture, commercial composting, riparian restoration, farm business incubation, gleaning and food hub development.
The Intervale Food Hub Sales and Marketing Manager leads sales and marketing in collaboration with the entire Food Hub team and supports successful business operations. This full-time position (40 hours/week) develops and executes the sales and marketing strategy, cultivates meaningful relationships with current customers, and oversees member services. This position is 50% sales and 40% marketing with 10% reserved to support business operations as needed.
Roles and Responsibilities:
â¢ Recruit new Intervale Food Hub members, cultivate existing members, and meet annual sales targets
â¢ Execute integrated sales and marketing campaigns, including content creation, scheduling, and campaign management.
o Prepare sales and marketing strategies and plan marketing and branding objectives for retail subscription delivery, institutional subscription delivery, and institutional wholesale delivery.
o Create and deliver advertisements and other marketing materials.
o Design print ads and publications.
o Ensure brand messages are consistent.
o Create and publish content on social media, and engage consumers on social media.
o Lead all areas of content generation and production across all media platforms.
o Execute sales calls, door-to-door customer recruitment, workplace recruitment meetings, and other sales strategies, in conjunction with the Customer Service Coordinator and GM
â¢ Analyze and identify market trends and recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies based on analysis and feedback.
â¢ Prepare, track and adhere to annual sales and marketing budget with the GM.
â¢ Gather and analyze customer insight through survey creation, delivery and analysis to inform sales strategy and properly identify marketing opportunities.
â¢ Work with Intervale Food Hub team on strategic planning and overall business development.
â¢ Research and capitalize on different marketing opportunities to improve product marketability and profitability.
â¢ Nurture and enrich all external perceptions of the company.
â¢ Engage other organizations within the community to secure and sustain workplace, community, and institutional partnerships for delivery.
â¢ Stay up to date on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, attending conferences and workshops, reading professional publications, maintaining a personal network and joining professional organizations.
â¢ Gather, investigate and summarize data and trends to provide accurate information through reporting and support business management.
â¢ Anticipate and take advantage of new opportunities to develop and maintain relationships with clients and customers.
We are seeking an experienced Sales and Marketing Manager. An ideal candidate will bring:
â¢ Bachelor's Degree in Business and Marketing or related field
â¢ 3-5 years of experience in sales, preferred in food or related field
â¢ 1-2 years of management experience
â¢ Demonstrated love of local food, farming, and/or cooking
â¢ Strong interpersonal skills
â¢ Familiarity with data analysis and reporting
â¢ Exceptional understanding of sales and marketing
â¢ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
â¢ Experience with web-based design software and/or photography preferred
