Position Summary:
The Washington County Youth Service Bureau is a private, non-profit organization that has assisted young people and families since 1974. As the only non-profit in Washington County focused solely on the unique and complex needs of adolescents and young adults, nearly 500 youth turn to our direct service programs each year for support. In addition, we administer four statewide coalitions of youth service providers that touch another 15,000 youth throughout Vermont. Our Mission is to provide a wide range of innovative and effective programs that empower and enrich the lives of youth and families in Washington County, and to provide leadership and support to other youth programs throughout Vermont.
The Washington County Youth Service Bureau/Boys and Girls Club (WCYSB) is seeking a part time case manager for its local Youth Development Program serving the Barre district. The Youth Development Program ensures that youth with foster care experience enter adulthood with the necessary supports to build productive and fulfilling lives. Using a strengths-based and youth-driven approach, the program promotes well-being across the following domains: housing, education, employment, social connections, transportation, health, enrichment and basic needs. The Youth Development program also offers participating youth with access to leadership, advocacy and training opportunities in order to ensure that the foster care system is informed by and responsive to the youth who are served by it.
The Barre District Youth Development Program works closely with DCF workers, foster parents, other direct service providers, community partners, and other Youth Development Coordinators across the state.
The position is responsible for direct case management for approximately 11-13 youth. The Youth Development Coordinator is also responsible for ensuring that all required documentation, reporting, and data elements are submitted on time and service provision operates within an established budget.
