Analytical Services, Inc. (ASI) has an immediate opening for a Part-Time Analyst for Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The analysis (including sputter coating and imaging) is performed by the ASI Analyst at the University of Vermonts (UVM “ Burlington, Vermont) Microscopy Imaging Lab.

The successful candidate will be trained using Standard Operating Procedures to work independently and as part of the Laboratory Operations team in a professional laboratory environment. Computer proficiency (Excel) required for data entry and reports. Attention to detail and efficient work rate required. Previous SEM experience preferred.

Knowledge - Laboratory and SEM experience preferred

Skills - Computer proficiency, experience with MS Office/ Excel and data entry

Mental - Organized, attentive to detail, efficient, strong work ethic, positive team member

Physical - Active position, requires manual dexterity to assemble and install filter holders to ASIs flushing skid, and to install and remove filters.

Availability - UVMs Microscopy Imaging Lab is open Monday “ Friday, 8AM “ 4:30PM; applicant must be available to work during these hours.

Approximately 20 hours per month, typically 10 hours per week the last 2 weeks of the month. Analyses include sub-micron particle enumeration / sizing and bacterial enumeration of 25 mm disc filters used to monitor high-purity water quality for multiple ASI clients. Requires travel to and from UVM, as well as data entry. Duties also include cleaning and rinsing of the filter holders at ASI.
