Additionally, the Patient Access Coordinator schedules and coordinates simple and complex patient appointments for respective clinics. This position involves working independently with minimal supervision to complete daily work assignments. Begins on a temporary basis, with consideration for long-term employment with the organization. Follows HIPAA and captures demographic and insurance information.Routes incoming referral requests and provides appropriate documentation for the referralProvides patient with brief description of required test or procedure when necessary and any required instructionsAnswers telephones in a professional and courteous mannerListen effectively, and if unable to resolve a concern personally, escalates promptlyUtilizes systems by obtaining accurate information to effectively communicate messagesDocuments and completes all pre-authorization communicationIdentifies insurance eligibility information required to obtain pre-authorizationEnsures accurate and timely documentationWorking hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PMSkills:Excellent customer service skills.Able to work independently, and take initiativePossesses active listening skillsGreat written and oral communicationAbility to remain calm with distressed or emotional individualsAbility to multitask and prioritizeAbility to operate office machines such as fax, telephone, computer, keyboard, copier and scanner.Education:AssociateExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:2+ years of customer service in a medical, fast-paced retail or other business environment.
