Job Description

ProSource360 Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a progressive

Data Science Analyst to support the National Science Foundation’s Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences, National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics. The Data Science Analyst is responsible for analyzing complex datasets, organizing and managing statistical data, and performing technical analyses. The successful candidate will have experience communicating data trends to a broad audience to include senior leaders.

Responsibilities

  • The Data Science Analyst will apply principles in the fields of statistics, economics, social science, data science and/or other relevant disciplines to analyze, organize, manage, and interpret statistical data and complex datasets
  • Analyze, design, and develop data visualization, data mining and optimization tools and technologies in a variety of business functions.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources to present objective, policy-relevant findings that may be used by policy makers
  • Prepare reports, presentations, outreach materials, and briefings that convey these findings to senior leaders and various stakeholders.
  • Analyze and interpret trends related to science and engineering for Congressionally mandated reports on the state of U.S. science and engineering and the role of women, minorities, and persons with disabilities in the science and engineering enterprise.
  • Ad hoc reporting as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer and information sciences, mathematics, statistics, or social science to include economics, political science and government, and public policy analysis.
  • Possess the ability to analyze data trends related to demographic information (e.g. sex, race, ethnicity, disability, socioeconomic status, etc.)
  • Intermediate technical writing experience
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel. Must be proficient in MS Suite
  • Must possess both acute attention to detail and the ability to interpret trends across various policy-relevant dimensions
  • Critical thinking a

    must – ability to apply changes in processes and information appropriately across all project aspects without instruction
  • Ability to communicate data trends and research objectives to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated strong teamwork skills
  • You must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in computer and information sciences, mathematics, statistics, or social science to include economics, political science and government, and public policy analysis.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in relevant field
  • Experience using statistical software (e.g. SAS)\
  • Experience with database software (e.g. Microsoft SQL server, Oracle, Sybase etc.)
  • Experience analyzing policies for science and engineering and the use of science and engineering in other national policies.

  • Description Responsibilities: We are looking to fill a full-time Information Systems Specialist III (ISS III). Under limited supervision and a high level of judgment required, this advanced technical services position is responsible for the management and troubleshooting of all classrooms\' audiovisual and computing equipment, staff and faculty enterprise applications, including research and proactive maintenance at the assigned college/s.
