Job Description

Job Summary:
Selected individual will serve in a communication capacity within a Federal government agency focused on health, science, and research. In addition to marketing expertise, candidates should be comfortable working in a general consulting capacity; with experience or interest in internal communications, content development, and content publishing.

The work will primarily support the overall communications strategy of an Institute within the agency, supporting dissemination of information across the organization. The right person for the role will feel comfortable in a highly collaborative environment, while also being able to work independently and take ownership of their assignments.

Responsibilities:
Attend various weekly meetings with the team and stakeholders; take notes and track action items
Take ownership of updates to certain sections of the Intranet site; update the site weekly
Support development of weekly digest and carousel updates for the Intranet site
Collaborate with designers to create materials for distribution in support of communication efforts
Learn how to update advance features of the Intranet site and support training other users
Monitor and triage inbox inquiries
Draft content in support of communication activities, including Power Point presentations
Contribute to the development and planning of quarterly meetings, including preparation of quarterly metrics presentations
Assist with status reports and other project management tools
Support strategy work as needed, such as quality control of deliverables and tracking progress against an enhancement roadmap

Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Legal Permanent Resident
Eligible for U.S. Government Clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree required from college or University
3-5 years of relevant work experience in communications, project management, web content publishing
Experience within the Federal government, healthcare, oncology, research or science fields are a plus
Excellent critical thinking, writing, and organizational skills
Proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple concurrent projects
Experience with editorial calendars, project dashboards, and tracking schedules
Experience working with designers, writers, and other team members
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Experience with content management systems, such as Drupal or Sitecore
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with all stakeholders and at all levels of the organization, including senior management
