Epic Systems Inc is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to support the development effort in supporting DHS OBIM modernization
Strong Java Development with Java/J2EE and Perform development and maintenance of end-user focused, object-oriented, data-driven analytic applications to support DHS OBIM applications
Develop new code, modify existing application code, conduct unit and system testing, and engage in rigorous documentation of developed and delivered application use cases, data flows, and functional operations.
Demonstrate a strong practical understanding of industry standard Java Application Servers technologies such as WebLogic, and/or JBoss for application delivery.
Demonstrate a strong practical understanding of DHS mission critical data
Working with stakeholders and developers to identify causes of system/code issues.
Deploying code and maintain baseline across many environments.
Working with security team on an on-going basis to ensure COTS comply with DHS security standards.
Required Skills / Qualifications: • DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related experience. • Configuration management experience, e.g., using Ansible, Chef, or Puppet • UNIX shell scripting • Working knowledge with Git/GitHub • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills • Excellent communication skills Desired Skills / Qualifications:
Master’s in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study
15+ years of Java and relevant experience
Experience developing SQL scripts
Experience developing Jython scripting
Experience with Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Fusion Middleware administration, managing multiple application domains and setting and configuring multiple authenticators
Experience with TIBCO Business Works (BW), Java Messaging Service and Enterprise Message Service (EMS) administration, managing multiple domains and configuring BW trace parameters for debugging
Working knowledge with PKI, renewing and implementing security certificates
Certifications Preferred: ITIL Foundation; Amazon Web Services (AWS); or Oracle WebLogic Server is a Plus Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance without sponsorship.
