SMS Holdings Job Description
Summary: Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare,
convention centers/arenas or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly
condition by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties
may be assigned.
ï· Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
ï· Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors,
elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
ï· Sweeps, scrubs, finishes, and polishes floor.
ï· Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
ï· Dusts furniture and equipment.
ï· Polishes metalwork.
ï· Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
ï· Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
ï· Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
ï· Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of
the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be

No prior experience or training.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and
memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present
information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and
other employees of the organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with
10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American
money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or
two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only
occasional or no variables.
No Computer skills needed.
