Christiansburg, VA - Tail Chasers, a Pet Boutique offering dog grooming services, daycare, training and retail, is seeking a skilled, certified groomer for full or part-time employment. If you are a good match, we can be flexible to meet your schedule needs. We also offer custom pay structures to accommodate any groomer. Pay is negotiable based on experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
-Must put the SAFETY, HEALTH & HAPPINESS OF THE DOG FIRST
-Must be able to handle the stress that typically comes with grooming & handling dogs with behavioral issues (fear, anxiety, aggression, etc.)
-Minimum of 1 year experience with all breeds
-Pet Bathing experience (nails, glands and ear cleaning experience for bathers)
Stamina to groom several pets per day
-Groom animals utilizing varying techniques depending on type of hair, coat, breed and owner instructions
-Perform all general maintenance of grooming room: clean tubs, grooming tables, vacuum floor, mop floor daily, empty trash, clean clipper blades, scissors and brushes before and after use, etc.
-Must be punctual, professional in attitude / attire
-Must be able to speak with customers in a positive manner at all times
-Able to build relationships with dogs and their human companions
-Like to both work alone - and interact with clients/co-workers in a fun, friendly and professional manner
