We're looking for the right person to join our team as a Senior Network Engineer to report onsite in Chantilly, VA. We are an innovative, cloud first managed and professional services company that works with commercial enterprises and the public sector to mitigate their risk and enable IT modernization.
Role / Responsibilities
This position will require rotating on-call and after hours maintenance windows support (as needed) to include occasional travel to other site locations. NOTE: Due to the type of access this role entails, telecommuting is not allowed
Analyzes customer requirements and provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate complexity
Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, networks, and related cloud services
Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability
Configures systems for data communication networks
Supports the design, installation, and build of hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks in a cloud environment
Troubleshoots and support daily operations including responding to and resolving incidents
Maintains current knowledge and documentation of relevant technology as assigned - including on-premise and cloud environments
Qualifications
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance (or IT1 with current SSBI/T5 investigation)
Bachelor's Degree in related technical discipline OR equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
Extensive experience supporting network engineering - including on-premise and cloud environments
Experience designing and setting up a secure best practices network footprint in a cloud or multi-cloud environment - especially involving AWS cloud services
Experience performing maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, cloud services, and networks. (i.e. Cisco NexASR, Palo Alto, VMware NSX)
Solid understanding of network fundamentals, TCP/IP routing and switching
Able to support the work site designated above, to include rotating on-call and after hours support
Preferred:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
