Hi we are several Charlottesville families with working parents whose kids are in the first-grade age range, who normally attend primary public elementary schools, and would like to provide a face-to-face option out a way to work with the Charlottesville school system's plan for the upcoming school year.
We are looking for a full-time teacher/nanny to work with up to 6 kids from when school starts in September to when it ends in May. The work will include administering a teaching plan coordinated with the material provided by the public school system, helping oversee homework assignments, creating additional learning and recreational activities, helping with snacks and meals, and supervising recess, on a 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. schedule. We will provide a space at a parent's home or a local nonprofit or church group which will be maintained and sanitized with best practices to protect against COVID-19 (including daily temperature checks, social distancing, separate workstations, and air filtration). We do not want the kids to need to wear masks but want to do everything else necessary to create a safe environment, including fixed rules (developed with you) for scenarios if someone gets sick.
We are looking for candidates with teaching experience, their own transportation, CPR training, willingness to follow best COVID-19 practices to protect the kids from potential infection, and a flexible and outgoing approach to education.
