Seeking energetic and nurturing preschool teacher for our outdoor based preschool and elementary program serving children 18 months through 10 years old. Based on the educational philosophy of Reggio Emilia, our school is a respectful and evocative learning environment that promotes opportunities for creative thinking, skill-building and meaningful relationships. We work collaboratively with children to create investigations around their ideas. Position will work in a co-teaching model. We are pivoting our current school to a forest based model in response to the COVID crisis.
Candidates should have:
A keen understanding of child development, knowledge of social constructivism and/or Reggio approach and/or or willing to learn. Must have strong writing and communication skills; ability to document children's learning.
Be comfortable navigating risky play, outdoor exploration, and a variety of weather with children. Appreciation of nature and the ability to integrate into the curriculum.
Ability to think creatively and collaboratively about ideas, materials and spaces.
A warm, nurturing character that easily connects to children and their families.
