Engineering experience with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to use logical and reason-based analysis to identify and communicate process and product strengths/weaknesses as well as to provide production solutions. Knowledge of design principles and techniques, mathematics, tolerances and the interpretation of precision technical plans and models with a high attention to detail. Knowledge of sheet metal production processes, raw materials, turret and press brake tooling, bend deductions, production costs and quality control principles. Strong organization skills and the ability to perform tasks in order of importance and in a timely and customer service oriented manner.
Job duties include interpreting customer blueprints, specifications and computer-generated models in order to oversee and assist in the development of flat pattern layouts and machine programs that meet or exceed customer requirements. Developing new part price quotes for customers as well as detailed in-house routing/work instructions and setup sheets. Working with client engineers to provide sales, technical and quality assistance as well as to maintain current part revisions. Selecting/procuring machine tooling & equipment as well as vendor supplied parts and products in order to manufacture part assemblies in a cost-effective manner. Software includes Solidworks, Amada AP100, Microsoft Office and Excel
